Working with the EverTrust Advocacy Team: Support Every Step of the Way
Healthcare can feel overwhelming, especially when you are trying to understand costs, make decisions, and keep everything organized. At EverTrust Health Share, you are not expected to figure it out on your own.
The EverTrust Advocacy Team is here to support you through your entire healthcare journey, not just when you have a Sharing Request. Whether you are planning a procedure, comparing costs, purchasing something as simple as a night guard, or just trying to understand your options, the team is available to help you make informed, confident decisions. This is guided support designed to simplify healthcare, reduce costs, and give you clarity every step of the way.
Why This Approach Matters
EverTrust is built on a cooperative model, meaning members play an active role in managing healthcare costs. When you make thoughtful, cost-conscious decisions, you can save money as an individual member while also helping reduce overall expenses for the entire community. This shared approach keeps healthcare more affordable and ensures resources are available when they are needed most.
When eligible medical requests are approved and your Member Responsibility Amount (MRA) has been met, community funds are used to help pay those expenses. Because those funds come from the community, being proactive and mindful about healthcare decisions benefits everyone.
Support Beyond Sharing Requests
While the Advocacy Team plays an important role in guiding you through the Sharing Request process, their support extends far beyond that.
They can help you:
- Understand pricing before you receive care
- Review Good Faith Estimates
- Compare providers and explore lower-cost options
- Navigate everyday healthcare decisions
- Answer general questions about treatments, costs, or next steps
For medical care and treatment decisions, you will continue working directly with your provider. The Advocacy Team focuses on helping you navigate the process, avoid unnecessary expenses, and make smart financial decisions along the way.
Start Early to Stay in Control
One of the most important things you can do is start early. For planned or non-emergent care, reaching out before services are received allows you to explore options, review pricing, and take advantage of cost-saving opportunities.
Even for smaller or routine needs, early guidance can help you avoid unnecessary steps and expenses. Waiting until after care is received often limits your options and can make the process more difficult.
Stay Engaged and Make It Work for You
Your involvement plays a key role in your overall experience. Staying organized, asking questions, and responding when needed helps keep everything moving smoothly.
For larger medical needs, this includes submitting your Sharing Request early and continuing to upload documents as they become available. For everyday healthcare decisions, it simply means using the resources available to you before making a decision.
Medical Records, Guidelines, and Determination
For Sharing Requests, each submission is reviewed based on the EverTrust Member Guidelines. Medical records are an important part of this process, as they confirm the details of your care and allow your request to move forward.
Staying organized and requesting records early can help prevent delays. While the Advocacy Team can assist, members who take an active role in gathering their records often see faster progress.
What Happens After Approval
Once your Sharing Request is approved and your MRA has been met, community funds are used to pay eligible medical expenses. When possible, payments are made directly to providers. If reimbursement is needed, funds are sent to you with guidance from the Advocacy Team.
When all required information is received, payments can often be processed quickly, helping you resolve expenses without unnecessary delays.
A More Proactive Way to Use Healthcare
EverTrust encourages a more proactive approach to healthcare. Instead of reacting to bills after the fact, members are empowered to plan ahead, compare options, and make informed decisions before receiving care. This approach leads to fewer surprises, lower costs, and a more streamlined experience overall.
Everyday Resources That Make a Difference
Support doesn’t stop with larger medical needs. EverTrust also provides access to practical tools and resources that help with everyday healthcare decisions, even for expenses that may not be eligible for sharing.
These include:
- Radiology Assist– When costs are below your MRA, they can help find services such as x-rays for under $100.
- Proteeth Guard– Cost-effective solutions for dental needs, such as custom night guards. Members often pay less than they would with a dental insurance plan, averaging around $150 per guard.
- Uquora– Focuses on prevention management without immediately needing to schedule an in-person visit or escalate to urgent care or the ER.
These resources help you avoid unnecessary visits, reduce costs, and simplify how you access care.
Why This Matters for You
When you take advantage of the tools, guidance, and support available, you benefit directly. You are more likely to lower your overall costs, avoid unnecessary steps, and make more confident decisions about your care.
At the same time, your choices help strengthen the entire community by keeping healthcare spending fair and sustainable.
You’re Not Doing This Alone
From your first question to final payment, the EverTrust Advocacy Team is there to guide you, keep things moving, and help you understand each step.
This is a cooperative process. When you stay engaged and work alongside the advocacy team, you create better outcomes for yourself and support the entire EverTrust community.
